Priya found a love for biking during her time at UC Davis as an undergraduate student where that was her primary method of transportation. Though living on a farm after college didn’t lend itself to bicycling, Priya is excited for her move back to town and being able to get biking again. Priya’s background is in regenerative agriculture and environmental sustainability, and she has budding interests in improving public infrastructure to better support active transport as well as creating and supporting active communities. As a Lecturer at Chico State, education is important to her, and she’s looking forward to doing community education and outreach as well. She’s excited to bring her experience with grants and non-profit work to Chico Velo!

Growing up in rural Butte County, Whitney would notice that during springtime there would be hundreds of cyclists that passed her home on Coutolenc, where she spent her formative years before moving to Chico to attend the college. Her love for the outdoors and community experiences ultimately culminated in working at the local bike shops downtown and participating in the Wildflower event for her first century in 2019. Since then, Whitney has spent a lot of time on her gravel and mountain bikes riding in Bidwell Park, exploring the Sierra Nevada foothills, and beyond. She continues to grow her skills in the bicycle industry while volunteering with the local youth MTB team and trail stewardships, and she hopes that her work with Chico Velo will encourage others to enjoy and preserve the beauty of our natural world.

Steven Clipperton | Trailworks Coordinator
Steven moved to Chico in 2007 to attend CSU, Chico and quickly realized how special Chico is and all that it has to offer. He met and married his best friend here, and they have built a network of great friend, who appreciates a healthy and ‘outdoorsy’ way of life. Upper Bidwell Park is one of Steven’s favorite places, and he has happily volunteered with Chico Velo and Trailworks for 9 years. The Trailworks coordinator position allows him to contribute to this community in a meaningful and fulfilling way.
