The Butte County Gravel Grind is a gravel bike race, ride, and fundraiser for Chico Velo Trailworks. Your participation helps build and maintain great trails in Butte County, California.  ​

SEE ROUTES
NEW THIS YEAR
No more burn scars, log decks, or Humbug Summit for Long Course riders. Instead, they get to see pristine alpine forests and abundant water as they descend and climb through Rattlesnake Creek. 
​

Long and Medium Course now feature the addition of Escape Trail, a 9 mile cross country trail that is part of the Colby Mountain Recreation Project.

Sunday, JULY 12 2026
Join us for an epic ride through the forests of the Colby Mountain Recreation Area! Kicking off from Butte Meadows, this fundraiser race supports our Colby Mountain Project to build an additional 40 miles of trails in the area.

Registration

Registration includes rest stop access and post-ride meal back at the Butte Meadows Mercantile ​. All proceeds go towards supporting the Colby Mountain Recreation Area Project to build more trails!

Lodging

Lodging in the area is very limited, so make sure to make plans ahead of time. The cabins sleep multiple people, so consider bringing your friends and sharing a space! 

The nearest hotels are in Chico, about 45 mins away by car.
