NEW for our second annual gravel race  is an untimed, easy leaning 24 mile, "Lookout Loop". Enjoy the Lassen National Forest as you climb up to Colby Mountain Lookout, where you will be greeted by longtime steward, Ken Jordan, for a well stocked rest stop. All proceeds from the Butte County Gravel Grind go towards trail maintenance and Trailworks. 
Volunteer sign ups will be open in May 2025.

A stocked rest stop is provided along both routes at the intersection of the Colby Mountain road, as well as Jonesville Road and Humbug Summit Road.

Sunday, JULY 13 2025
Join us for an epic ride through the forests of the Colby Mountain Recreation Area! Kicking off from Butte Meadows, this fundraiser race supports our Colby Mountain Project to build an additional 40 miles of trails in the area.

Registration

Registration includes rest stop access and post-ride meal back at the Butte Meadows Mercantile ​. All proceeds go towards supporting the Colby Mountain Recreation Area Project to build more trails!

Lodging

Lodging in the area is very limited, so make sure to make plans ahead of time. The cabins sleep multiple people, so consider bringing your friends and sharing a space! 

The nearest hotels are in Chico, about 45 mins away by car.
