Chico Velo Foundation

Chico Velo actively advocates for and encourages cycling in Northern California through a variety of programs. In addition, the Chico Velo Foundation allows us to extend our reach by offering grants to assist individuals and organizations in funding local cycling-related events, activities and projects. The Foundation was launched in August 2010 in partnership with North Valley Community Foundation, to better support local cycling activities, projects, and initiatives through a grant process.

Chico Velo Foundation grants are awarded based on theproject/event impact on our community specifically with regard to bicycling education and/or encouragement. We want to make Chico the best cycling community it can be!

CONTRIBUTE
Through the Foundation, we can accept personal donations as well as donations through estate planning and matching grant programs. You can donate any time of year via North Valley Community Foundation.

APPLY FOR A GRANT
Local cycling-related, sports-related, and other organizations, clubs, groups and individuals are encouraged to apply for funding. Chico Velo’s goal is to provide funding to a wide variety of applicants and projects, so normally, we will fund a specific project for up to 2 years. An organization may apply and receive grant funding for any number of years, but only 2 years per PROJECT. Typical grant amount will be $500 though exceptions may be made in unusual cases.

To judge all applications fairly, we will have one annual window for grant application submission. For 2018 grants, we will accept applications through Monday, Oct 23 at 5pm. For your convenience, you can now complete the entire application online OR download the PDF and submit to the Chico Velo office  in person (125 W 3rd St, Suite #210), via fax (53- 342 4646) or via US mail (PO Box 2285, Chico CA 95927).
