Mountain Bike Skills Park for the North State and Beyond!
Project Background
The Chico Bike Park is gearing up to be THE mountain biking destination in Northern California! After much community input, and working with experienced bike park builder, American Ramp Company, we are excited to share the proposed site plan sketch for the up and coming Chico Bike Park.
Located next to Marsh Junior High School on Humboldt Road between Forest Avenue and Notre Dame Boulevard, this currently vacant parcel of land is part of the Chico Area Recreation District, who has envisioned the many amazing community parks Chico currently enjoys.
Maintaining the natural beauty of Chico and the foothills is an important aspect of this project. The current parcel of land is dotted with beautiful mature oak trees and natural grasses. Healthy trees will be persevered and incorporated into the design of the park, as well as an emphasis on natural and native landscaping. This park is going to be as beautiful as it is functional, with low lighting to emphasize the landscape and reduce light pollution for the surrounding community.
One of the goals of the Chico Bike Park is to ensure a space for riders of all experience levels, from young kids just learning to ride, to seasoned veterans looking to hone their technical skills; the Chico Bike Park will have different areas focused on various skills and abilities.

Construction Updates
November 2025
Construction of the Pump Track and Jump Lines are nearly complete! The technical aspects of the park will be getting wrapped up soon, and then work will begin on infrastructure such as parking, lighting, and landscaping. This portion of the project will take the longest to complete, however we are still currently on track for a summer 2026 opening!
September 2025
Base has been shaped and compacted for the pump track, and the first of the asphalt has been poured. Partially pre-fabricated wood jumps have been trucked in. The jumps will finish being constructed on the track now. Tree work has also been completed, and trenches have been dug to start the process of future water abatement.
August 2025
Grading and clearing of the site of the bike park is completed! The first berm has been placed, and base has been brought in to start on the pump track
July 2025
Groundbreaking Ceremony took place, and construction is officially underway! This 6 acres space is designed for riders of all ages and skill levels and will feature off-road courses, jumps, wooden rails and more. Check out the design map above to take a look!
