The Chico Velo Foundation launched in August 2010 through a partnership with North Valley Community Foundation to support local cycling activities, projects, and initiatives through a grant process.  The Foundation allows us to increase our charitable funds through personal donations, estate planning, matching grant programs, and the Annie B's Community Drive for sustained local giving.

APPLY FOR A GRANT:
Local cycling-related, sports-related, and other organizations, clubs, and groups are encouraged to apply for these funds.  Applications are reviewed and funds are granted if one or more of the following goals, commonly known as the Five E's, are met with regard to cycling: Encouragement, Education, Evaluation, Enginering, and Enforcement.  Our goal is to address these issues directly through Foundation grants to improve our community standing with the League of American Bicyclists.  Currently, the City of Chico enjoys a Bronze Bicycle Friendly status, but we are actively working towards Platinum.  We want to make Chico the best cycling community it can be!  Download a grant application.
